In short
Kørselsfradrag stores everything locally on your device. There is no account, no server behind the app, no analytics or tracking, and no third parties. I, as the developer, cannot see your trips, your addresses or your receipts.
The one exception is address lookup and route calculation, which is handled by Apple's own map services from your device. That is described below.
What information the app handles
Everything below is entered or chosen by you inside the app:
Trips: date, direction (outbound or return), starting point (home or summer house) and the number of kilometres.
Addresses: your usual residence, your summer house and your workplace, plus the coordinates and distances the app derives from them.
Expenses: ferry costs and the number of Øresund crossings.
Receipts: photos you take or pick from your photo library.
Settings: the selected tax year and whether your residence is in an outlying municipality.
The app does not ask for your name, email, phone number, national ID or any other identifying information, and it creates no user account.
Where the information lives
Trips, ferry expenses and receipt images are stored in the app's own database on the device. Addresses, coordinates and settings are stored in the app's local settings. Neither leaves the device.
The app does not sync via iCloud. If you back up your iPhone yourself — to iCloud Backup or to a computer — the app's data will be part of that backup on the same terms as the rest of your device. That is Apple's backup, not the app's.
Address lookup and route calculation
When you enter an address, the app looks it up through Apple's map services (MapKit) to find its coordinates, and then calculates the driving distance between your addresses the same way. For that purpose, the addresses and coordinates concerned are sent to Apple.
This is the only network traffic the app makes. No trips, amounts, receipts or anything else is sent along with it. Apple's handling of map requests is described in Apple's privacy policy.
Camera and photo library
The app asks for camera and photo library access solely so you can attach a picture of a receipt to a trip. The image is stored in the app's database on the device and is never uploaded. You can decline access and use the app without receipt photos.
Location
The app does not track your location and does not ask for access to it. Kilometres come from routing between the addresses you enter yourself — not from tracking where you drive.
Export and sharing
The yearly summary can be copied to the clipboard as CSV or as a text summary. From there, where it goes is up to you. The app does not send anything anywhere on its own.
Third parties
There are none. The app contains no analytics, no advertising, no third-party crash reporting and no tracking technology. Nothing is sold or shared with anyone, because there is nothing to share.
Deleting your data
You can delete an individual trip inside the app. Deleting the app from your device removes the entire database of trips, receipts and settings with it. Since nothing is held by me, there is nowhere else your data needs deleting from.
Children
The app is aimed at adult taxpayers and is not directed at children. It collects no information from anyone, at any age.
Your rights under the GDPR
The GDPR gives you the right to access, rectify, erase and receive a copy of personal data that a controller processes about you. Kørselsfradrag involves no personal data processed by me: everything sits on your own device under your own control, and I have neither access to it nor copies of it.
In practice this means you exercise those rights in the app itself — you can view, correct, delete and export your data directly on the device. If you have questions about the processing regardless, you are welcome to write.
Changes to this policy
If the app changes such that this description no longer holds, this page will be updated and the date at the top changed. Significant changes will also appear in the app's release notes.
